Please note that you must apply for the JLPT a few months prior to the test date. In Japan, applications for the June test must be made in April. Applications usually open in late March and go through April. Applications for the December test open in late August and go through September.
Once the application period ends you will be unable to apply to sit the test.
How to apply online for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test
Registering for the JLPT online is a 2-step process. It is all done through the Sofia University JLPT website.
- Registration: If you don't have a login ID and password, you will need to register for this first.
- Click the first button in the top left corner of the Sofia University JLPT site that says "Acquisition of MyJLPT", or just click here.
- Follow the instructions taking note of the instructions for entering your details (Description of the registration process in the platform in Bulgarian).
- Sign up and pay: Once you have completed registration and account has been approved, go back the Sofia University JLPT site and click the second button in the top left corner to log in. Again follow instruction to sign up for your JLPT test.
